CSAT Cracker

CSAT consists of two papers, notably – GS Paper 1 and GS Paper 2. The first paper is extremely important as the marks obtained in that exam determine your position and rank in the merit list. However, the second exam in CSAT is qualifying in nature, meaning the marks you score in that exam are not used to determine your rank, but you have to qualify nonetheless. The candidates are expected to obtain at least 66 out of 200 marks or 33% marks in order to qualify. Before answering, however, candidates should exercise caution, as a negative mark of 0.83 will be given for each wrong answer.

Even though one needs to score only 33% marks in CSAT (GS Paper- II), it can become a little tricky given the unpredictable nature of UPSC, amid the increase in the difficulty level every year.

For a candidate to be placed in the rank list, they must score well in the first exam and qualify in the second exam.
